VERMONTVILLE AREA FAMILY HISTORIES
BARBERS IN VERMONTVILLE, MICHIGAN Descendants of Robert Barber born 1700. He married Sarah Gray 1731. Compiled by Elmer C. Sanborn 1977
RATHBURN FAMILY, William O. Rathburn, born 1831 and wife Lydia (Winnie) born 1837. William O. was sick for four years, in bed for three years with tuberculosis contracted during the Civil War. He enrolled as a private in Co. G 178th regiment, with Ohio volunteers infantry on 9/14/1864 at age 33. He mustered out with his company at Charlotte N.C. 6/29/1865. William died 8/3/1868 at the age of 38 years.
THE DESCENDANTS OF CYRUS GEHMAN & HANNAH LAUTZENHEISER, Cyrus was born December 28, 1847 in Pennsylvania. Hannah was born December 17, 1848 near Louisville, Stark County, Ohio. they were married on January 15, 1870 at Louisville, Ohio. They came to Michigan in the Spring of 1878. Cyrus died on October 24, 1917 at Vermontville, Michigan. Hannah died on April 16, 1929 at Vermontville. Both are buried at Kalamo Cemetery, Eaton County, Michigan. Compiled by Morris C.
