    Ann Cummings was born in Lenox, Madison Co., New York, March 18th, 1822 and died at her home in Roxand, April 15th, 1908. Her age being 86 years and 28 days. She came to Michigan in June 1837 with her parents who settled on the farm now owned by F. L. Bosworth. After one year of single life, she was married to George Coddings whose death occurred in 1855. She and her husband remained at the old homestead about three years, then moving on to a farm one mile south of Chester Center, where they lived but one year. From there they moved to the present place, her life long home. She was the mother of eight children of whom four survive her: Joanna Gregory of Lead, Dakota, Vira Markum of Battle Creek, Herbert Codding of Roxand and William Codding of Sunfield. There were 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grand children. Funeral Sunday at her home and burial at Moyer Cemetery, Rev. D. D. Butch of Sunfield officiating.
